Going on Vermont Golf Vacations

Vermont is a state in the northeastern United States of America, and because of its rolling fields and beautiful landscapes, it is considered as being one of the best places in the world to go for a golf vacation. There are many different golf courses and resorts available, not to mention a ton of different great hotels and condos that you can stay at.

Vermont golf vacations can be truly incredible, but you will have to take the proper time and put in some effort during the planning stage. Far too often people take these Vermont golf vacations and then end up getting there only to realize that they forgot to include something important or that it is not all they expected it to be and are disappointed.

This is the last thing that you want to have happen on your Vermont golf vacations, which is why it is important to follow a few steps in the planning stage.

Planning

First you want to decide where exactly in Vermont you want to take your Vermont golf vacations. From Burlington, Rutland, Barre, and Montpelier to St. Albans, Winooski, Newport and Vergennes, you definitely have a lot of choices here. You can even travel around from one area to another if you think that you will have enough time, and of course you will have to have some means of transportation to get around then while you are there.

The next step in planning your Vermont golf vacations is to locate and book reservations for accommodations. Whether you want to stay in a hotel, motel, condo, or even rent out a home, you are going to have to book as far ahead of time as you possibly can, in order to ensure availability for the time and date that you are looking for.

Or, if you want to save yourself a lot of time and effort you can simply find a company offering Vermont golf vacations packages and do it this way. This means that everything, from your time on a golf course to your accommodations would all be included, and you would just have to pay the fee for the package and you could be on your way.

You can even save money by going this route, but just make sure that you purchase your package from a legit company and that you take time to read all the fine print before signing anything or handing over any money.

Important Information on Professional Golf Tours

There are many different professional golf tours that take place around the world, and a few of the most major professional golf tours are: PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, European Tour, Canadian Tour, Pepsi Pro Golf Tour, Tight Lies Adams Pro Tour, Minor League Golf Tour, National Golf Tour, Weekly Challenge Golf Tour, Asian PGA Tour, The Tuesday Tour, Moonlight Golf Tour, The Texas Pro Golf Tour, The Ultimate Game, Carolinas Pro Golf Tour, and the ASGA Tour.

The PGA Tour

Of course one of the most well known and recognized professional golf tours of all is the PGA Tour, a golf tour which almost everyone has heard of, one which is an organization that operates the USAs main professional golf tours, and in particular there are three tours: the PGA Tour, Champions Tour, and the Nationwide Tour. The PGA Tour also conducts an annual Qualifying Tournament that is a six-round tournament held each fall and from which the top 30 finishers, including ties, receive privileges to play on the following year s PGA Tour.

The Season

There are obviously certain differences from one season to another, but there are some basics that tend to remain the same. For instance, in terms of tournaments, there are 48 events in the 44 week regular season, of which 47 of them are official money events, including in particular four alternative events that are played the same week as a higher status tournament.

There are also several different event categories in the professional golf tours, and in the PGA this includes the Majors, World Golf Championships, Unique, Small Field, Playoff Event, Team, Regular, Invitational, Alternate, and Fall Series.

PGA Tour players, as with most other professional golf tours players, compete for two player of the year awards, and the PGA Tour Player of the Year award which is also known as the Jack Nicklaus Trophy, is administered by the PGA Tour and was introduced in 1990, and the recipient is selected by the tour players by ballot, although the results are not released other than to say who has won.

Then there is also the Rookie of the Year award which was introduced in 1990, and here, players are eligible their first season of the PGA Tour membership and several of the winners in particular had a good deal of international success. Professional golf tours are exciting and a great way for talented golf players to show off their skills and earn deserved success.

The Best Areas in Portugal for a Golf Tour

Not many people would think of Portugal first when trying to decide on a place to go for a golf tour, but it is actually quite an ideal option. There are many areas in Portugal that are fantastic for a golf tour, and in particular, within Portugal s rocky coastline there is an area that is known as The Algarve, which has been described as The land where sea, sun and golf meet .

The Algarve has been a magnet for many golfers around the world for quite some time now, and it is justly famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline. The mainly arid Algarve coastline is a beautiful backdrop for golf courses and resorts, and gives way to verdant oasis at each of the golf complexes thanks to large, state-funded water catchments and distribution schemes, as well as private boreholes which tap into subterranean water sources for irrigation.

The beautiful sunshine, mild climate, and reasonably priced accommodations are all important and understanding aspects as to why Portugal is the perfect place for a golf tour.

Getting There

If you are interested in going to Portugal to golf, then there are a few things you are going to have to think about here. First, if you have the financial and time resources and want to go on a tour that lasts a few days, then your best bet is going to be to buy a golf tour package, which will include all of the necessary elements for your stay in Portugal.

This includes your airfare there and back, accommodations for while you are there, time on the golf courses of your choice, and so on. Buying a package deal also makes it much easier on you because you have less in general to worry about and will be able to enjoy yourself more on your trip. You will also typically save yourself money by going this route which is definitely a bonus, and you just want to make sure that you go with a company you can trust and read all the fine print before signing anything or putting any money down.

Golfing in Portugal is fantastic, and you really cannot understand just how great it is until you try it out for yourself. There are so many little cities and towns around the area that offer gorgeous 9 and 18-hole courses to test your skills out on, and it is truly an ideal to place to travel to with your family and friends and get in some great golf games.
