Scotland Golf VacationsThe golf courses available in Scotland are some of the most beautiful and wondrous in the world. If you’re passionate about golf then you will definitely want to travel here. Scotland has over 500 different golf courses to choose from. The landscapes and backdrops are simply beautiful and breathtaking perhaps moreso than any you have seen elsewhere.

Opening to the public in the summer of 2008, the St. Andrew’s Castle Course is sure to be a favorite. The designer, David McLay Kidd, creator of Bandon Dunes on the West Coast of America, has created a typical Scottish golf experience. Each hole has a choice of five tees and the course will be playable between about 5300-7200 yards. Please note that you will need to play the course on foot. Carts are only allowed for golfers with a documented disability.

Wherever you are in the ancient city of St Andrews, considered the home of golf, history beckons and a noble past tugs at your senses. The St Andrews of today is a place of culture and entertainment, with a theatre, cinema, museums and a thriving night life. With its incomparable setting, its unique traditions and its welcoming people there really is no finer place to play or to visit than St Andrews.

Other fabulous golf courses in Scotland include the stunning Tom Weiskopf-designed Loch Lomond on Glasgow’s outskirts. Windyhil in Bearsden is another great course and is the home club of Scottish star Janice Moodie. Haggs Castle on Glasgow’s southside is one of the city’s finer challenges. It’s been host to a number of different amateur and professional tournaments.

One of the most enchanting countries in all of Europe, Scotland is a wonderful place to explore the dreamy, magical countryside, and is truly an ideal place to go for a golf vacation.
